Play with the window width and height
Five inches above the frame is not a rule of drapery-hanging that’s strict. Instead, create a floor-to-ceiling effect by installing long drapes below the place where the wall meets the ceiling.
You can boost the width using a longer drapery rod and hanging the drapes at each end. You can do this with blinds too. Choose blinds that measure three to four inches longer than the window on each side. This technique is excellent for odd-sized windows, especially if you want a material that can’t easily fit custom spaces, like woven blinds. Also, installing window treatments all at the same height creates symmetry in the room.
Install Drapery
Window treatments are the perfect solution for small spaces, allowing you to block out light while still allowing in a little warm sunshine on a chilly day.
Drapery is a great way to control light and privacy in your home without making significant structural changes. For example, you can install drapery panels and hang them from a rod above the window.
Place Furniture Wisely
A small, high window can appear weird without the complementing furniture around it. Positioning a desk, hallway table, or bureau just below the window helps frame makes the window to look like the last piece in the puzzle.
Paint Trim matching the walls of your room
Colour contrasting trim is seen in most homes, but if you have smaller windows, contrasting trim can make the windows look smaller. Instead, choose a color matching the wall. This will give your wall a more continuous, integrated feel.
Also, it will seem more significant overall without multiple elements breaking up the space.
